Essential oils of Acca sellowiana (O. Berg.) Burret was examined by GC and GC/MS. The main components for oil were, spathulenol (24.4%), δ-cadinene (9.6%), β-terpineol (8.7%) and ß-caryophyllene (8.1%).

Feijoa is a fruit tree with great potential for human consumption, cultivated between 1,800 and 2,700 m.a.s.l. in Colombia. It is well adapted to cold temperatures, resisting temperatures <0 °C for a short time, while temperatures >32 °C affect its flowering.
