Threshold stress for cyclic creep acceleration in copper

Journal of Materials Science, 1988
The phenomenon of cyclic creep acceleration (CCA) is well known. Also, it has been observed experimentally that there exists a peak stress level above which CCA begins to occur. For copper the value of this peak stress is known to be independent of cyclic stress conditions such as stress amplitude and frequency.

The effect of “creep acceleration” in the theory of viscoelasticity

Moscow University Mechanics Bulletin, 2007
A particular case of constitutive relations in the Pobedrya nonlinear theory of viscoelasticity is considered. It is shown that these relations can be used in the problem of describing the material softening under pulsed loading.

Simulative Accelerated Creep Test on Gleeble

Materials Science Forum, 2010
The simulative accelerated creep test (ACT) on Gleeble thermal-mechanical simulator was developed as a response to an overall need of gaining in a short time useful physical data for estimation of long-term behaviour of materials exposed to operation at elevated temperatures.

Study on Accelerated Creep Properties and Creep Damage Constitutive Relation for Volcanic Breccias

2013
In order to know about the accelerated creep properties of volcanic breccias, triaxial compression rheological experiments are carried out on rock servo-controlled triaxial rheology equipment. Based on the experimental results, the accelerated creep phase of creep curve of volcanic breccias is analyzed.

Creep behavior of geosynthetics by temperature accelerated testing

2017

Creep behavior of geosynthetics using confined-accelerated tests

Geosynthetics International, 2011
ABSTRACT: The creep behavior of geosynthetics has commonly been determined using standardized creep tests, which are time consuming and very expensive. In addition, these tests involve the use of in-isolation specimens. Thus they are not likely to consider the overall effect of soil confinement.

Accelerated characterization for long-term creep behavior of polymer

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
ABSTRACT Based on the observation that high stress results in increasin g creep rate of polymeric material, which is analogous to the time-temperature equivalence, where high temperature accelerates the process of creep or relaxation of polymer, the time-stress equivalence is investigated.

The force on an accelerating body in axisymmetric creeping flow

Zeitschrift für angewandte Mathematik und Physik ZAMP, 1972
A general and easily applied expression is derived for the force on an accelerating body in an axisymmetric slow viscous flow. This expression is valid for any axisymmetric body, irrespective of the conditions at the surface.

Accelerated creep as a precursor of friction instability and earthquake prediction

Physical Mesomechanics, 2010
Earthquakes can be considered as a result of tribological instability in a system of faults of the Earth crust. Similar instabilities can be reproduced and studied in detail in laboratory-scale experiments. In this work, the earthquake model under study is a tribosystem with pronounced stick-slip behavior. Measurement of the motion of the system with a

Extrapolation of Sigmoidal Creep Curve by Strain Acceleration Parameter

Key Engineering Materials, 2013
It has been widely accepted that the creep characteristics at high temperatures are mainly evaluated by a minimum creep rate and a time to fracture. Although, a shape of creep curve may vary depending on deformation conditions, the apparent minimum creep rates may become the same value.
