Statistical Aspect in Accelerating Creep and Creep Fracture of OFHC Copper

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1958
A large number of creep rupture tests on OFHC copper wire have been carried out at stress levels of 24.0∼25.0 Kg/mm 2 and temperatures of 8∼40°C. The F-test was made for the differences in variance between time for initiation of accelerating creep and time for rupture measured from the initiation of accelerating creep, and the regression analysis ...

Accelerated and real‐time creep and creep‐rupture results for aramid fibers

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2012
AbstractThis article presents results from conventional creep tests (CCT) and two accelerated test methods (the stepped isothermal method (SIM) and the stepped isostress method (SSM)) to determine the creep and creep‐rupture behavior of two different aramid fibers, Kevlar 49 and Technora.

Accelerating creep of the slopes of a coal mine

Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, 1987
A 249 day long record of the accelerating creep of a slope of an open-pit coal mine is analyzed, using linear regression, to test four creep laws. The Saito and Zavodni and Broadbent laws did not lead to a satisfactory estimation of the time of failure as a range of times of failure satisfied the goodness of fit criteria.

Surrogate Models for 3D Finite Element Creep Analysis Acceleration

Volume 13D: Turbomachinery — Multidisciplinary Design Approaches, Optimization, and Uncertainty Quantification; Radial Turbomachinery Aerodynamics; Unsteady Flows in Turbomachinery, 2023
Abstract A gas turbine and especially its blades is at the heart of any gas and oil fired power station and thus it is critical to maximize the length of their design life as a key component for successful utilization. Blades weaknesses could affect the whole process of the energy generation, contractual penalty shall be paid in this ...

Accelerated creep testing for high temperature design

2022
Components in-service at temperature are most likely designed with a creep strain limit achieved in a time frame as end of life criteria. In applying a negligible limit of 0.2% creep strain at 200kh recent work within European Standards has found the traditional rule-ofthumb that ferritic martensitic (F/M) materials do not creep below 375 C, and

Simulative Accelerated Creep Test on Gleeble

Materials Science Forum, 2010
The simulative accelerated creep test (ACT) on Gleeble thermal-mechanical simulator was developed as a response to an overall need of gaining in a short time useful physical data for estimation of long-term behaviour of materials exposed to operation at elevated temperatures.

Accelerated creep resistance of thermal barrier coated superalloy

Materials Letters, 2006
Abstract This paper deals with accelerated creep properties of thermal barrier coated (TBC) Superni C263 alloy used as a candidate material in combustion chamber of aero engines. Results reveal that the life of the TBC composite under accelerated creep is substantially higher compared to that of the bare substrate.

Creep behavior of geosynthetics using confined-accelerated tests

Geosynthetics International, 2011
ABSTRACT: The creep behavior of geosynthetics has commonly been determined using standardized creep tests, which are time consuming and very expensive. In addition, these tests involve the use of in-isolation specimens. Thus they are not likely to consider the overall effect of soil confinement.

Threshold stress for cyclic creep acceleration in copper

Journal of Materials Science, 1988
The phenomenon of cyclic creep acceleration (CCA) is well known. Also, it has been observed experimentally that there exists a peak stress level above which CCA begins to occur. For copper the value of this peak stress is known to be independent of cyclic stress conditions such as stress amplitude and frequency.
