Detection of Broken Strands of Transmission Line Conductors Using Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Transmission lines are affected by Aeolian vibration, which causes strands to break and eventually causes an entire line to break. In this paper, a method for monitoring strand breaking based on modal identification is proposed.

The Inflation Accelerator

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal
We develop a tractable sticky price model in which the fraction of price changesevolves endogenously over time and, consistent with the evidence, increases with inflation. Because we assume that firms sell multiple products and choose how many, but not which, prices to adjust in any given period, our model admits exact aggregation and reduces to a one ...

The impact of frailty syndrome on skeletal muscle histology: preventive effects of exercise

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Frailty syndrome exacerbates skeletal muscle degeneration via increased ECM deposition and myofiber loss. This study, using a murine model, demonstrates that endurance exercise attenuates these histopathological alterations, preserving muscle integrity. Findings support exercise as a viable strategy to counteract frailty‐induced musculoskeletal decline

A mathematical model of traffic noise at a signalized intersection [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2005
This research aims at modeling interrupted flow traffic noise at a signalized intersection. The models are mathematically derived by applying the inverse square law of sound pressure incorporating with theories of traffic flow at an intersection.

A Particle Emitting Source From an Accelerating, Perturbative Solution of Relativistic Hydrodynamics

open access: yesUniverse, 2019
The quark gluon plasma is formed in heavy-ion collisions, and it can be described by solutions of relativistic hydrodynamics. In this paper we utilize perturbative hydrodynamics, where we study first order perturbations on top of a known solution.

The role of circular RNAs in regulating cytokine signaling in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytokines present in the tumor microenvironment fuel cancer development. Aberrant expression of circRNAs contributes to cancer progression. Cytokines are involved in regulating circRNA biogenesis. Furthermore, aberrantly expressed circRNAs regulate the expression of ligands, receptors, and downstream effectors involved in cytokine signaling to promote ...
