The effects of numerical acceleration techniques on PIC-MCC simulations of ion thrusters
The particle-in-cell-Monte Carlo collision method has been widely used in simulation studies of ion thrusters. Due to the huge computational demand of such simulations, numerical acceleration techniques are required.

Universality and criticality of a second-order granular solid-liquid-like phase transition
We experimentally study the critical properties of the non-equilibrium solid-liquid-like transition that takes place in vibrated granular matter. The critical dynamics is characterized by the coupling of the density field with the bond-orientational ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

EXAQ: Exponent Aware Quantization For LLMs Acceleration
Quantization has established itself as the primary approach for decreasing the computational and storage expenses associated with Large Language Models (LLMs) inference. The majority of current research emphasizes quantizing weights and activations to enable low-bit general-matrix-multiply (GEMM) operations, with the remaining non-linear operations ...

SmallTalk: a novel small‐sized fusion tag for peptide expression and purification
The SmallTalk fusion tag allows for the efficient expression and purification of soluble recombinant proteins or peptides in Escherichia coli. Testing with SmallTalk‐GFP confirmed that the proteins were soluble and folded correctly, while SmallTalk‐Bin1b maintained its antimicrobial activity against various bacterial isolates. This streamlined workflow

Attractive Interaction between Vortex and Anti-vortex in Holographic Superfluid
Annihilation process of a pair of vortices in holographic superfluid is numerically simulated. The process is found to consist of two stages which are amazingly separated by vortex size $2r$.
