Analyses of strong motion earthquake accelerograms, Volume III - Response spectra; Part A - Accelerograms IIA001 through IIA020 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
This is the first volume of a series presenting earthquake response spectrum curves calculated from corrected ground accelerograms. An introduction summarizes response spectrum techniques in earthquake engineering as a background to the use of the data ...

Modulation of homogeneous turbulence seeded with finite size bubbles or particles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The dynamics of homogeneous, isotropic turbulence seeded with finite sized particles or bubbles is investigated in a series of numerical simulations, using the force-coupling method for the particle phase and low wavenumber forcing of the flow to sustain

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Research on Improved Seismic Instrumentation System for Nuclear Power Plants

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
According to the requirements of nuclear safety regulations, nuclear power plants must be equipped with seismic instrumentation systems, which are mainly used for monitoring alarm and automatic shutdown alarm during an earthquake.

Vibration simulator studies for the development of passenger ride comfort criteria [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
A test program to determine the total discomfort associated with vehicle vibration is described. The program utilizes a three-degree-of-freedom vibration simulator to determine the effects of multifrequency and multiaxis vibration inputs. The approach to

Space missions to detect the cosmic gravitational-wave background [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
It is thought that a stochastic background of gravitational waves was produced during the formation of the universe. A great deal could be learned by measuring this Cosmic Gravitational-wave Background (CGB), but detecting the CGB presents a significant ...

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Cost-Savings of Implementing Site-Specific Ground Motion Response Analysis in Design of Mississippi Embayment Bridges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Deep dynamic site characterization and a site-specific ground motion response analysis (SSGMRA) were conducted for a bridge site in Monette, Arkansas.

Statistical linearization based estimation of the peak response of nonlinear systems subject to the EC8 design spectrum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A stochastic approach is proposed to obtain reliable estimates of the peak response of nonlinear systems to excitations specified via a response∕design seismic spectrum.

A Study on Evaluation of an Acceleration Response Spectrum at Local Government Sites Using Peak Acceleration Ratio and Predominant Period of Spectrum for Crustal Earthquake

open access: yesJournal of Japan Association for Earthquake Engineering, 2011
