Near Retinoscopy in Accommodative Esotropia

Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 1990
ABSTRACT We tested whether near retinoscopy, a noncycloplegic retinoscopic technique, was applicable to the optic correction of patients with accommodative esodeviations. We performed a study in 17 patients with accommodative esotropia to compare the refractive values obtained by near retinoscopy and by cycloplegia, as measured by two ...

Medical Management of Accommodative Esotropia

Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 1983
ABSTRACT Cycloplegic drugs are the principal medications used in the diagnosis of accommodative esotropia. The same cycloplegics can be used as a "medical patch" in the treatment of amblyopia. Miotics may be as good as glasses in controlling accommodative esotropia but are almost never better.

Binocularity in Refractive Accommodative Esotropia

Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus, 2002
ABSTRACT Purpose: To investigate whether restoration of normal stereo acuity is possible in refractive accommodative esotropia. Methods: Twenty patients with refractive accommodative esotropia were included in the study. The cycloplegic refraction and the best corrected visual acuity of each patient were recorded.
