RINGED ACCRETION DISKS: INSTABILITIES [PDF]
ABSTRACT We analyze the possibility that several instability points may be formed, due to the Paczyński mechanism of violation of mechanical equilibrium, in the orbiting matter around a supermassive Kerr black hole. We consider a recently proposed model of a ringed accretion disk, made up by several tori (rings) that can be corotating or

Global bifurcations to subcritical magnetorotational dynamo action in Keplerian shear flow [PDF]
Magnetorotational dynamo action in Keplerian shear flow is a three-dimensional, non-linear magnetohydrodynamic process whose study is relevant to the understanding of accretion processes and magnetic field generation in astrophysics.

The effect of droplet size and liquid water content on ice accretion and aerodynamic coefficients of tower legs [PDF]
An experimental study was conducted to examine the effects of varying the cloud characteristics on ice accretion on tower legs and on the aerodynamic coefficients around the ice-covered legs.

ACCRETION INTO BLACK HOLES WITH MAGNETIC FIELDS, AND RELATIVISTIC JETS
We discuss the problem of the formation of a large-scale magnetic field in the accretion disks around black holes, taking into account the non-uniform vertical structure of the disk.

Magnetospheric accretion on the fully-convective classical T Tauri star DN Tau [PDF]
The MaPP project is supported by the funding agencies of CFHT and TBL (through the allocation of telescope time) and by INSU/CNRS in particular, as well as by the French ‘Agence Nationale pour la Recherche’ (ANR).

ACCRETION OUTBURSTS IN CIRCUMPLANETARY DISKS [PDF]
We describe a model for the long term evolution of a circumplanetary disk that is fed mass from a circumstellar disk and contains regions of low turbulence (dead zones). We show that such disks can be subject to accretion driven outbursts, analogous to outbursts previously modeled in the context of circumstellar disks to explain FU Ori phenomena ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
