High‐Throughput Data Generation and Transfer Learning Enabled Microstructure‐Property Integrated Design of Nickel‐Based Powder Metallurgy Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated transfer learning framework integrates CALPHAD simulations, diffusion‐multiple experiments, and literature data to predict long‐term microstructural stability and short‐term mechanical properties of Ni‐based powder metallurgy superalloys. Based on these model predictions, a high‐performance, low‐density alloy, USTB‐PM750, is designed from

Accretion Disks

2000
Derivations are made for the mass and the mass-turnover time scale of an accretion disk as a function of the accretion rate, the observed disk radius, the non-viscous disk radius, and two parameters. These parameters depend on the effectiveness of viscosity and tidal angular momentum loss. Application is made to DQ Herculis.

On disk accretion

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1983
A simple but sufficiently accurate method for calculating an accretion disk structure is developed. The detailed analysis of the accretion disk is fulfilled by using this method. The effect of turbulent heat transfer on the disk structure is taken into account along with the effect of radiative transfer.

Thin Accretion Disks

2017
The chapter reviews the Novikov-Thorne model, which is the standard framework for geometrically thin and optically thick accretion disks around black holes, pointing out its assumptions. It also describes the transfer function for thin accretion disks and how the transfer function can be calculated in a stationary and axisymmetric spacetime and in the ...
