Steel Tube Flying Lead Accumulated Plastic Strain Calculation

Offshore Technology Conference Asia, 2020
Abstract This paper documents a study to determine the accumulated plastic strain (APS) developed in steel tube flying leads (STFLs) assembled in loose-tube bundle configurations throughout their product lifecycle. This lifecycle consists of the various processes involved in the manufacturing of STFLs,including initial tube manufacturing,

Accumulated Plastic Strain Evaluation of Steel Tube for Umbilical Cables

Volume 3: Pipeline and Riser Technology; Ocean Space Utilization, 2008
This paper presents the tests performed for the qualification of the level of accumulated plastic strain (APS) to be respected by manufacturing and installation of SAF 2507 steel tube umbilicals. The manufacturing and installation processes for steel tube umbilicals are carried out through repetitive cycles of coiling and uncoiling the tubes or ...

Computer analysis of plastic strain accumulation in multilayer arc welding and surfacing

Blanking productions in mechanical engineering (press forging, foundry and other productions), 2023
Level of plastic deformations is calculated in multilayer acr welding and surfacing. The equations of compatibility of displacements caused by heating of the metal during successive application of rollers are solved. It is revealed that in the case of successive surfacing of beads and a change in the distribution of limiting temperatures, a complex ...

A Plasticity Model for Cyclic Strain Accumulation

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1971
A general plasticity model is developed which is able to predict a cyclic strain accumulation phenomenon, sometimes called cyclic creep. To assess the consequences of the phenomenon for nonhomogeneous stress states, simple forms of the model are used in the analysis of two idealized structural elements.

Simulation of plastic strain accumulation during thermal cycling of TiNi alloy

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2017
Abstract The Volkov and Evard microstructural model describing the functional properties of TiNi shape memory alloys was modified to simulate plastic strain variation during thermal cycling of the TiNi alloy under constant stress through the temperature range of the martensitic transformation.

Slip transfer and plastic strain accumulation across grain boundaries in Hastelloy X

Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, 2012
Abstract In this study, high resolution ex situ digital image correlation (DIC) was used to measure plastic strain accumulation with sub-grain level spatial resolution in uniaxial tension of a nickel-based superalloy, Hastelloy X. In addition, the underlying microstructure was characterized with similar spatial resolution using electron backscatter

Intergranular strain accumulation in a near-alpha titanium alloy during plastic deformation

Acta Materialia, 2002
Abstract Neutron diffractometry has been used to characterise the evolution of intergranular lattice strains during the tensile loading of the near-α titanium alloy Ti-834. The measurements were made on tensile testpieces in directions both parallel and perpendicular to the applied load.

Accumulative plastic strain model for low cycle fatigue analysis of stiffened plates

2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS), 2015
In order to analyze the increasing accumulative plastic damage of ship stiffened plate, combing the interaction coefficient of stiffener and plate, with plastic strain of damage evolution as the control quantity, the low-cycle fatigue accumulative increasing plastic damage model and low-cycle fatigue life model for stiffened plates have been derived ...

Formulation of Equivalent Plastic Strain Accumulated in Rotating Bending Process of Metal Tubes for Severe Plastic Deformation

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
The newly proposed rotating bending process of metal tubes is a novel kind of Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) process, which is expected to refine and control the microstructure of metallic tubular materials. The stress distribution and accumulated equivalent plastic strain of deformation part have a significant influence on the microstructure ...
