ACE-inhibition prevents postischemic coronary leukocyte adhesion and leukocyte-dependent reperfusion injury [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Objective: Polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN), retained in the microvascular bed, can contribute to postischemic myocardial reperfusion injury. Since a beneficial effect of ACE-inhibition on reperfusion injury has been reported, we investigated the ...

A rare presentation of angioedema with isolated retropharyngeal and supraglottic involvement

open access: yesJournal of Community Hospital Internal Medicine Perspectives, 2019
Angiotensin converting-enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are commonly prescribed drugs with multiple indications including congestive heart failure, hypertension, and diabetic nephropathy.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

ACE Aktivitas Inhibitor Angiotension Converting Enzyme (ACE) Fraksi Protein Susu Kerbau (Bubalus bubalis) Fermentasi

open access: yes, 2018
Proteins and peptides are food components that have proven ability to prevent hypertensive disease through inhibition of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE).

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Effect of plate washing on the dissociation of ACE inhibitor from ACE.

open access: yes, 2018
The residual ACE activity towards substrates, HHL and ZPHL, as well the ratio of the rates of the hydrolysis of these substrates, ZPHL/HHL ratio, were determined in the wells coated by goat anti-mouse IgG, four mAbs to ACE (strong and weak) and, then ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Effect of an angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitor on the plasma concentration of cytokines and vasoactive molecules in patients with coronary heart disease and hypertension

open access: yesТерапевтический архив, 2017
Aim. To investigate the plasma concentrations of cytokines and vasoactive molecules in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) in the presence of hypertension in relation to the angiotensin-converting-enzyme (ACE) inhibitor level reflecting the degree

Hypothetical function of the endogenous angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor.

open access: yes, 2014
The clinical success of ACE inhibitory drugs prove that ACE is a physiologically important angiotensin I converting enzyme. Here we propose the existence of an endogenous ACE inhibitor in human sera (Inh) which provide an evolutionary conserved mechanism
