Background: Frequent alcohol consumption leads to development of alcoholic liver steatosis. Onset of steatosis is caused by alcohol metabolite ‘acetaldehyde’ causing intracellular accumulation of lipid bodies due to abnormal metabolism. Livogrit is a tri-

The strengthened EMSI in Pd/CoN‐Co4N induces electronic rearrangement, generating abundant Pd0 species in situ, modulating the Pd d‐band center to enhance O2 adsorption and MEK activation. Concurrently, it creates numerous Lewis acid sites that preferentially adsorb poisons and shield the active sites.

A new data‐efficient framework combining DFT calculations, a neural network model, and automated graph analysis of catalytic reaction networks is proposed and applied to CO2 hydrogenation on transition metal nanoparticles. The analysis shows how efficient C2 oxygenate production requires a balance between CHx formation, C–C coupling, protonation, and ...

Chronic alcohol exposure disrupts intestinal barrier integrity, resulting in a leaky gut and enhanced translocation of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and microbial products into the systemic circulation. Alcohol‐induced endotoxemia drives exaggerated pro‐inflammatory responses, mitochondrial damage, and activation of the cGAS–STING pathway, particularly in ...

Plant physiological and environmental controls over the exchange of acetaldehyde between forest canopies and the atmosphere [PDF]
We quantified fine scale sources and sinks of gas phase acetaldehyde in two forested ecosystems in the US. During the daytime, the upper canopy behaved as a net source while at lower heights, reduced emission rates or net uptake were observed.

Detrimental effects of ethanol and its metabolite acetaldehyde, on first trimester human placental cell turnover and function. [PDF]
Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) describes developmental issues from high maternal alcohol intake, which commonly results in fetal growth restriction and long term morbidity.

Once ingested, most of the alcohol is metabolized in the liver by alcohol dehydrogenase to acetaldehyde. Two additional pathways of acetaldehyde generation are by microsomal ethanol oxidizing system (cytochrome P450 2E1) and catalase.

The first enantioselective alkynylations of aqueous fluoral are described. These processes are catalyzed by an iodide‐bound ruthenium‐(Ph‐BPE)‐catalyst; an octahedral metal complex that can exist as 12 diastereomeric‐at‐metal isomers. Calculations reveal that 2 of 12 stereoisomeric complexes account for 99.9% of the Boltzmann population and that ...
