Origin of Physicochemical and Mechanical Stability of Low‐Temperature Prepared TiO2‐Based Photocatalytic Films: Surface Hydroxyl Density Matching

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Material science advances show how surface chemistry improves low‐temperature prepared TiO2‐SiO2 composite films. Using a colloidal‐based synthesis method instead of a powdered‐based one, researchers exploit hydroxyl groups' interfacial interactions to create nanoscale structures with superior physicochemical and mechanical stability.

Lattice‐Strained Cu2O‐Ni/NiO Heterostructure Enables Selective Electrocatalytic C–C Coupling of Alcohols to Cinnamaldehyde in Aqueous Medium

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study achieved the selective oxidation C–C coupling of PhCH2OH with EtOH to form cinnamaldehyde (CAL) on a designed Cu2O‐Ni/NiO heterojunction catalyst. By employing a salt precipitation strategy to balance the pH and cation concentration, an 86% conversion rate of PhCH2OH and a 67% high selectivity for CAL were realized.

Derivation and Validation of a Predictive Model for Advanced Colorectal Neoplasia Among Average‐Risk Adults in China

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Efficient pre‐colonoscopy risk stratification tools are needed, especially in China. Using multicenter colorectal cancer screening data from Shandong Province, the authors developed and validated a risk prediction model for advanced colorectal neoplasia in asymptomatic individuals using sociodemographic characteristics, lifestyle factors, and medical ...

Microbial keystone taxa and metabolic signatures in centenarians regulate intestinal homeostasis during aging

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Clostridium scindens and its metabolite indole‐3‐acetic acid (IAA) are identified as a keystone taxon and metabolic signature in centenarians. Clostridium scindens enhances microbial network stability and produces IAA via its own amidase (AMIE) and aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH), thus promoting intestinal homeostasis by activating the aryl hydrocarbon ...

From Mn(II)3 to Mn(IV)3: Controlled Multielectron Oxidation and Hydrocarbon Oxygenation Within a 7‐Dipy Trinuclear Scaffold

open access: yesJournal of the Chinese Chemical Society, EarlyView.
A trinuclear manganese complex supported by the 7‐Dipy scaffold undergoes controlled multielectron oxidation from Mn(II)3 to high‐valent Mn(IV)3 states. Spectroscopic signatures, including 16‐line and geff ≈ 5 EPR features, reveal stepwise redox accumulation. The oxidized Mn3 cluster mediates efficient oxygen‐atom transfer to strong CH bonds, enabling
