Synthesis and Biological activity of 4-(4,6-Disubstituted-pyrimidin-2-yloxy)phenoxy Acetates

open access: yesMolecules, 2010
Ten novel 4-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yloxy)phenoxy acetates and 4-(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-yloxy)phenoxy acetates were synthesized with hydroquinone, 2-methylsulfonyl-4,6-disubstituted-pyrimidine and chloroacetic ester as starting materials.

Silylation of Carbohydrate Syrups [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
Introduction Carbohydrates are usually difficult to analyze in solutions. Gas chromatography provides a suitable means for analysis. However most carbohydrate compounds are not volatile enough for use by this method.

Abiraterone Acetate [PDF]

open access: yesDrugs in R&D, 2010
Abiraterone acetate (CB 7630; CB7630; JNJ-212082), the 3β-acetate prodrug of abiraterone, is structurally related to ketoconazole and is being developed by Cougar Biotechnology as a hormonal therapy for advanced prostate and breast cancers. As a selective inhibitor of adrenal androgens, it is thought to be a safer product than existing second-line ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Ulipristal Acetate versus Leuprolide Acetate for Uterine Fibroids [PDF]

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2012
The efficacy and side-effect profile of ulipristal acetate as compared with those of leuprolide acetate for the treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids before surgery are unclear. In this double-blind noninferiority trial, we randomly assigned 307 patients with symptomatic fibroids and excessive uterine bleeding to receive 3 months of daily therapy ...

Divergent Syntheses of Isoquinolines and Indolo[1,2-a]quinazolines by Copper-Catalyzed Cascade Annulation from 2-Haloaryloxime Acetates with Active Methylene Compounds and Indoles.

open access: yesJournal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
A convenient and reliable method for the direct construction of isoquinolines is described. A series of isoquinoline derivatives were synthesized, with high chemo- and regioselectivities, via the copper-catalyzed cascade reaction of 2-haloaryloxime ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
