Effect of thermomechanical pulp fibers and clay on the characteristics of high‐ and low‐density polyethylene biocomposites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 46, Issue 11, Page 10460-10473, 10 August 2025.
Thermomechanical pulp fibers and clay compounded with high‐ and low‐density polyethylene biocomposites for injection moulding. Abstract This study focused on the performance evaluation of clay and thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fiber to reinforce low‐ and high‐density polyethylene (LDPE and HDPE) biocomposites. A 23 factorial experiment was designed using

Astroglial CB1 Reveal Sex‐Specific Synaptic Effects of Amphetamine

open access: yesGlia, Volume 73, Issue 8, Page 1673-1691, August 2025.
Main Points Astroglial CB1 mediate long‐term depression in the NAc through purine release. Amphetamine occludes LTD in male mice by inducing the saturation of A1 receptors. Astroglial CB1 mediate behavioral amphetamine effects in males, but not in females.

Synthesis of Amphiphilic Naphthalenediimides and Investigation of their Bioimaging Potential in Large Unilamellar Vesicles

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 28, July 29, 2025.
The efficient synthesis of a small library of nonsymmetrical panchromatic naphthalenediimides is reported. The electron‐donating groups on the aromatic core are varied to tune the fluorophores' photophysical properties . The ability of the dyes to partition and light up inside the lipid bilayer membrane in liposomal models is investigated to evaluate ...

Tailored Watson–Crick Pairing Partners for Xanthosine in RNA

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 42, July 25, 2025.
RNAs with kappa‐xanthosine (K–X) or 2‐iminocytidine‐xanthosine (2imC–X) base pairs form stable double helices that have higher melting temperatures than those of the A–U or G–U references. Access to these novel 2imC‐modified RNAs is possible through the mild, selective chemical conversion of 2‐thiocytidine RNA precursors.

Tuning NIR Absorption and Emission of Diphenyl‐Dihydrophenazine‐Based Merocyanines with Ultra Narrow Band Gap

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 42, July 25, 2025.
Novel merocyanine derivatives with a strong diphenyl‐dihydrophenazine donor and a series of strong electron acceptors were developed. The indanone and indandione acceptor units were modified by dicyanovinylene groups to tune acceptor strength. Among these derivatives, DPPZ‐IDD realized an ultranarrow electrochemical gap of 0.93 eV and an optical band ...

Streamlining Vorinostat Synthesis: A Chemoenzymatic Continuous Flow Approach

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 27, July 25, 2025.
A chemoenzymatic protocol for the synthesis of histone deacetylase inhibitor vorinostat has been established. Immobilized lipase from C. antarctica (imm‐CaLB) allowed the functionalization of suberanoyl acid 1 and further conversion to vorinostat via ion‐exchange resin treatment.

Exploring the Impact of Phenanthroline‐Based Glycoconjugated Ru(II) Polypyridyl Photosensitizers on Metastasis‐Related Processes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 41, July 22, 2025.
A novel family of water‐soluble, nontoxic, and phosphorescent N‐glycosylated Ru(II) phenanthroline‐based complexes are reported. They exhibit photoselectivity indexes ranging from 10 to 44 in PC‐3 cells, while impacting cell migration and resistance to detachment after irradiation with blue light.
