Synthesized flavone attenuates diabetes‐induced neurodegeneration through regulation of oxidative stress and metabolic‐neurodegenerative molecular pathways

open access: yesIbrain, EarlyView.
Neuroprotective efficacy of flavone (2‐phenyl‐4H‐chromen‐4‐one). The study aimed to explore the potential of a synthetic derivative (flavone) of a phytocompound, which is involved in neuroprotection activities. Experimental strategies included the characteristics of compound, in‐silico analysis, and in vivo assessments.

Differential Inhibition of the Brain Acetylcholinesterase Molecular Forms Following Sarin, Soman and VX Intoxication in Laboratory Rats

open access: yesActa Medica, 1997
The female Wistar rats were intoxicated (i.m.) with sarin, soman and VX in doses equal to 1xLD50 and pontomedullar areas of the brain were prepared, homogenized, centrifuged and in these samples, acetylcholinesterase (AChE, EC 3.1.1.7) activities were ...

Pelvic venous disorders in women: Diagnosis and management for gynecologists

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Pelvic venous disorders (PeVD) are an underrecognized yet significant cause of chronic pelvic pain (CPP) in reproductive‐aged women, characterized by venous reflux, obstruction, or both. This clinical opinion provides a practical overview of PeVD for gynecologists, outlining its pathophysiology, common presentations, diagnostic approach, and ...

Cholinesterase-targeting microRNAs identified in silico affect specific biological processes

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Neuroscience, 2011
MicroRNAs (miRs) have emerged as important gene silencers affecting many target mRNAs. Here, we report the identification of 244 miRs that target the 3'-untranslated regions of different cholinesterase transcripts: 116 for butyrylcholinesterase (BChE ...
