Incidence of Achilles tendon rupture [PDF]
We determined the incidence of a total Achilles tendon rupture in the city of Oulu and changes over the 16-year period 1979-1994. During this time, 110 ruptures occurred. The incidence increased from 2 ruptures/10(5) inhabitants in 1979-1986 to 12 in 1987-1994, with a mean of 7. The peak annual incidence, 18, was recorded in 1994.

Chronic Rupture of Achilles Tendon Caused by Haglund’s Deformity: A Case Report
A chronic Achilles tendon rupture is a tendon rupture occurring more than 4–6 weeks after a traumatic injury. Haglund’s deformity, caused by bony abnormalities in the ankle (mostly due to osteophyte or bone spur), can cause chronic inflammation and ...

Abstract Isolated avulsions of the distal biceps femoris are infrequent; however, they often occur in combination with other injuries to the posterolateral corner of the knee including the lateral collateral ligament (LCL). We describe a technique for LCL reconstruction with semitendinosus allograft through a bone tunnel in the fibula, followed by ...

Double Transverse Mini‐Incision Repair for Proximal Achilles Tendon Tears
Abstract Recent literature showing equivalent outcomes for surgical and nonoperative management of Achilles tendon ruptures emphasizes the importance of proper indications for surgical repair. Various techniques for tendon repair via reapproximation of the torn ends have been described, such as open, mini‐open, and minimally invasive, each with their ...

Abstract Irreparable posterosuperior rotator cuff tears remain challenging, particularly in young, active patients. Superior capsular reconstruction restores static stability but is limited by graft failure and reduced external rotation, especially with infraspinatus fatty infiltration. Lower trapezius transfer restores dynamic force coupling but lacks

ABSTRACT A novel anatomical description and radiological finding, related to the anatomical course of the terminal fibular artery (FibA) was recently reported. In the article, the authors found the terminal FibA to change its course, from being posterior and medial to the fibula to surface anteriorly and laterally before residing below the tibiofibular
