Depletion of Ascorbic Acid Restricts Angiogenesis and Retards Tumor Growth in a Mouse Model

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2007
Angiogenesis requires the deposition of type IV collagen by endothelial cells into the basement membrane of new blood vessels. Stabilization of type IV collagen triple helix depends on the hydroxylation of proline, which is catalyzed by the iron ...

Gαi1/3 Are Essential for BMP2‐Induced Osteogenesis by Bridging BMP Receptors to the Gab1 Signaling Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Gαi1/3 protein is a crucial connecting protein closely related to the signal transduction process of bone formation‐related cytokines such as BMP2. Gαi1/3 mediates downstream signaling pathways such as Smads and MAPK by binding to adaptor proteins like Gab1, thereby promoting the osteogenic effect of BMSCs.

Ascorbic acid potentiates the Giardia duodenalis growth inhibitory activity of pure Terminalia ferdinandiana Exell compounds

open access: yes, 2020
Giardiasis, one of the most common causes of diarrhoeal disease, is caused by gastrointestinal protozoal parasites of the genus Giardia. Metronidazole is the most commonly used drug to treat giardiasis.

Gestational Hypoxia Disrupts Medial Ganglionic Eminence Progenitor Dynamics and Interneuron Development in Schizophrenia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FES‐derived MGE spheroids exhibit progenitor‐stage alterations in developmental trajectory and hypoxia‐responsive transcriptional programs, followed by functional disruption. Gestational hypoxia recapitulates impaired progenitor proliferation, shortened cell‐cycle progression, interneuron developmental abnormalities, and schizophrenia‐like behaviors in

Salt Stress-Induced Ascorbic Acid Accumulation and Its Trade-Off with Mannan Content in Tomato

open access: yesHorticulturae
Salt stress causes osmotic stress and ion toxicity, often inhibiting plant growth and metabolism. However, salt-stressed tomato plants accumulate ascorbic acid, resulting in fruits with high commercial value.

Ascorbic acid effect on morphine withdrawal symptoms in rats

open access: yesJournal of Craniomaxillofacial Research, 2021
Introduction: Today, drug addiction is an important healthcare issue. Any helps to drug withdrawal may decrease its prevalence in the society. Ascorbic acid is a component, which can affect neurotransmitter systems as a regulator along with its ...

Ion‐Driven Regulation of Ca2+ Flow by Ti/Zn Composite Activates ERK/MAPK Signaling and Maintains Mitochondrial Homeostasis to Promote Macrophage‐Mediated Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printed interpenetrating Ti/Zn composite enables sustained Zn2+ release to regulate intracellular Ca2+ redistribution, preserve mitochondrial homeostasis, activate ERK/MAPK signaling, and promote M2 macrophage polarization, thereby enhancing osteoimmune‐mediated bone regeneration and peri‐implant osseointegration.

Dysregulation of the MACF1‐Rab14/KIF16B‐FGFR Vesicular Trafficking Axis Skews MSC Lineage Commitment in Glucocorticoid‐Induced Osteoporosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under normal conditions, MACF1 interacts with Rab14 and facilitates KIF16B‐mediated FGFR vesicle trafficking along microtubules to the plasma membrane, thereby supporting BMSC differentiation. In contrast, chronic GC exposure suppresses MACF1 expression, disrupting this transport and causing intracellular FGFR retention, which blunts osteogenic ...

Machine Learning‐Driven Design of Multicomponent Bone Inorganic Matrix Mimicking Scaffolds for Osteogenesis Enhanced by Neurogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of development of experimental datasets and algorithm models, screening and preparation of the scaffolds and their applications in vivo. ABSTRACT Bone defects require materials with osteogenic, neurogenic, and angiogenic activity, yet designing such materials within high‐dimensional compositional spaces remains challenging. Here,
