Dissociation constants of some organic acids

Talanta, 1984
Dissociation constants of di(nonylphenyl)dithiophosphoric acid, di(nonylphenyl)phosphoric acid and 9-phenyltetracosansulphuric acid, determined by two methods, are reported.

Dissociation constants of hydropseudohalic acids

Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1966
Abstract By means of potentiometric titration with hydrochloric acid of solutions of pseudohalide salts at several ionic strengths and temperatures, p Q a and K a o values have been obtained for HCN, HN 3 , HOCN and HSCN. From pH studies HSeCN is shown to be a very stong acid.

Thermodynamic acid dissociation constants of aromatic thiols

Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 2, 1973
The thermodynamic acid dissociation constants of thiophenol and a series of meta- and para-substituted thiophenols have been measured in water at 25°C by the e.m.f.–spectrophotometric method. The results and the significance of the linear free energy relationship for thiophenols are discussed and compared with the limited data available in the ...

Temperature Dependence of the Acid Dissociation Constants of Chloroquine

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1987
The pKa values of the conjugate acids of the antimalarial drug chloroquine were determined at various temperatures using fluorescence spectrophotometry and nonlinear regression in the data analysis. Both pKa values decreased by approximately one unit with increasing temperature over the range 0-37 degrees C with enthalpy changes of 46 and 49 kJ X mol-1.

Determination of acid dissociation constants by capillary electrophoresis

Journal of Chromatography A, 2004
Capillary electrophoresis affords a simple, automated approach for the measurement of pKa values in the range 2-11 at a throughput of less than 1 h per sample per instrument. Agreement with literature values is usually within 0.20 log units with a precision better than 0.07 log units.

Theoretical calculations of acid-dissociation constants of proteins

Biochemistry and Cell Biology, 1998
The purpose of this review is to introduce several computational procedures for the determination of acid-dissociation constants (pKa) of titratable groups in proteins. Several concepts, such as continuum electrostatics and the exact meaning of intrinsic and apparent pKas, will be explained in some detail.
