Comparative Studies on Fertility Traits of CMS Eggplants (Solanum melongena L.) Using Cytoplasms from Five Wild Solanum Species

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Crop and Horticultural Science, Volume 54, Issue 1, March 2026.
Five cytoplasmic male sterile (CMS) lines of eggplant “Uttara” (Solanum melongena L.) with the cytoplasms of S. kurzii (KUR), S. violaceum (VIO), S. aethiopicum (AET), S. anguivi (ANG), and S. grandifolium (GRA) and three restorers of fertility (RF) lines of CMS from AET, ANG, and GRA were compared for the fertility traits to determine which CMS are ...

Comparative efficacy of seed biopriming and soil drenching with Bacillus altitudinis TM22 and Bacillus atrophaeus MCM61 on the suppression of Fusarium wilt of cotton

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 3, Page 2424-2445, March 2026.
Co‐application of Bacillus strains TM22 and MCM61 suppressed Fusarium wilt of cotton. Seed biopriming with Bacillus strains performed better than soil drenching. TM22 + MCM61 improved vegetative and physiological aspects in cotton plants. TM22 + MCM61 enhanced the activity of defense enzymes and defense gene expression.

Covalent Peptide‐Based N‐Myc/Aurora‐A Inhibitors Bearing Sulfonyl Fluoride Warheads

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 32, Issue 3, March 2026.
N‐Myc‐derived peptidomimetics bearing aryl sulfonyl fluoride warheads were shown to act as effective N‐Myc/Aurora‐A PPI inhibitors, selectively labelling Aurora‐A in a recognition‐directed manner. ABSTRACT Orthosteric inhibition of the N‐Myc/Aurora‐A protein–protein interaction (PPI) represents a potential mechanism by which degradation of N‐Myc can be

Characteristics of Composite Gels Derived From Seaweed, Rice Protein, and Insoluble Dietary Fibers: Effect of pH and Monovalent Ions

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 4, Issue 1, March 2026.
Composite gels comprises of seaweed, rice protein and date fibers exhbited enhanced gel strength and texture with reduced syneresis. Date fibers contributing significantly to the gels’ distinctive color. The combination of ingredients in this blend leverages the functional properties of each component to create a composite blend with superior physical ...

Extensive phenotyping and genome‐wide analysis of grain number‐related traits in a diverse wheat core collection

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is one of the most important staple crops globally. Grain number per spikelet (GPS) is an important yield component in wheat. It is influenced by floret number per spikelet (FPS) and floret fertility. Through three consecutive years of observation of FPS, GPS, and floret fertility per spikelet (FFPS) in a ...
