A highly regioselective catalyst of epichlorohydrin acidolysis

Journal of Chemical Technology & Biotechnology, 1998
The effect of the catalytic system on the course of addition of carboxylic acids to epichlorohydrin was studied. A high regioselectivity of addition was observed in the presence of chromium(III) acetate. The regioselectivity improved with the size of the carboxylic acid molecule.

Lipase-catalyzed acidolysis of sunflower oil: Kinetic behavior

Journal of Food Engineering, 2010
In the present study, sunflower oil was modified with a palmitic–stearic acids blend by means of an immobilized sn-1,3 specific lipase (Lipozyme RM IM) to produce structured lipids. Products were analyzed to determine fatty acid incorporation (FM) into triacylglycerol structure and to quantify by-products as monoglycerides (MG) and diglycerides (DG ...

ACIDOLYSIS OF SEAL BLUBBER OIL WITH LAURIC ACID

Journal of Food Lipids, 2007
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to modify the fatty acid composition of seal (Phoca groenlandica) blubber oil by incorporation of lauric acid (12:0; a medium chain fatty acid). Of the three enzymes that were employed in the initial screening, sn‐1,3‐regiospecific lipase from Mucor miehei (Lipozyme IM) exhibited the highest activity and was ...

Acidolysis of poly(4‐methyl‐1,3‐dioxolane)

Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 1987
AbstractThe onset of decomposition of poly(4‐methyl‐1,3‐dioxolane) was lowered to 70°C by 0.1 wt% p‐toluene sulfonic acid from 170°C in the absence of acid to produce more than 81% yield of monomer. Protonation forms cyclic oxonium ion followed by depolymerization.

Preparation of dioxane lignin fractions by acidolysis

1988
Publisher Summary A convenient method for the preparation of lignin fractions from biomass is provided by the combination of mild solvolytic conditions with a good lignin solvent. Dioxane is a particularly interesting isolating agent of lignin fractions because of its solubility parameter, which is very close to the optimum value for isolated lignin ...

Microwave-Assisted Lignin Isolation Using the Enzymatic Mild Acidolysis (EMAL) Protocol

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2008
The use of microwaves is explored in an effort to further improve the recently developed lignin isolation protocol termed EMAL (enzymatic mild acidolysis lignin). Because the presence of the lignin-carbohydrate linkages seems to be rather pronounced within wood, a microwave reactor was used to replace traditional refluxing during the mild acidolysis ...

Lignin Acidolysis Predicts Formaldehyde Generation in Pine Wood

ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, 2017
Pinus virginiana wood was heated (200 °C, 10 or 60 min) while dry or after aqueous/acid/base pretreatment in order to reveal mechanisms of formaldehyde (CH2O) generation. Consistent with prior reports, among wood structural polymers, lignin was the overwhelming source of biogenic CH2O (defined as having a carbon source in wood).

Recycling of rigid polyurethane foams via acidolysis

Progress in Rubber, Plastics and Recycling Technology
The primary objective of this research is to advance our understanding of the recycling of polyurethane foams (PUF) through the process of acidolysis, with the specific focus on evaluating the potential of recovering rigid PUF waste. Drawing from the prior investigations on acidolysis of flexible PUF waste, we extended our research to the ...

Acidolysis of coal fly ash by Aspergillus niger

Fuel, 1993
Abstract The kinetics of aluminium extraction were investigated, using as-received and calcined fly ash samples and a pure culture of Aspergillus niger . This fungus metabolized sucrose to citric and oxalic acids, which were involved in the acidolysis of fly ash.

Reactivity of 6-Hexanelactam Cyclic Oligomers, 1. Acidolysis

Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 2001
The acidolysis of 6-hexanelactan and its cyclic dimer and trimer performed in a excess of anhydrous acetic acid at 200°C was studied. The products of the acidolysis present in the reaction mixtures were analyzed by the RP HPLC method. For the acidolysis of the cyclic substances studied, reaction schemes were suggested and, based on them, a set of ...
