The soil acidity problem is intensified by improper utilization of synthetic fertilizers in addition to other naturally existing causes; thus, it is important to consider effects on soil health beyond seasonal crop productivity. Most widely used sources of soluble phosphate fertilizers cannot perform effectively on acidic soil due to its fixation ...

Abstract Gelatin is one of the most important multifunctional biopolymers and is widely used as an essential ingredient in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics. Porcine gelatin is regarded as the leading source of gelatin globally then followed by bovine gelatin. Porcine sources are favored over other sources since they are less expensive.

Phytostabilization of a contaminated military site using Miscanthus and soil amendments
Abstract Military activities can contaminate productive land with potentially toxic substances. The most common trace metal contaminant on military bases is lead (Pb). A field experiment was begun in 2016 at Fort Riley, KS, in an area with total soil Pb concentrations ranging from 900 to 1,500 mg kg–1 and near‐neutral pH.

Fischer‐Tropsch synthesis: The properties of Co/zeolite bifunctional catalysts were correlated to the product distribution in Fischer‐Tropsch synthesis. It is observed that both the acidity and the pore structure play a vital role in primary and secondary hydrocracking/isomerization reactions. Abstract The conversion of synthesis gas to hydrocarbons in

Encapsulated cobalt particles live another day: Heterogeneously catalyzed reactions like the CO hydrogenation exhibit harsh conditions leading to catalyst deactivation. The cobalt particles investigated via ex situ and in situ TEM are located inside and outside the ZSM‐5 support, undergoing realistic and model conditions.
