Closed Loop Phosphorus Recovery and Recycling for Sustainable Hydroponic Farming

open access: yesJournal of Sustainable Agriculture and Environment, Volume 4, Issue 3, September 2025.
The proposed closed loop recovery and recycling method achieves a 40% reduction in commercial fertiliser use with recycled nutrients, which can be integrated seamlessly within the existing hydroponic systems with minimal capital investment. Stable EC/pH levels enhance nutrient stability and operational efficiency, and achieve 33% fertiliser cost saving.

Effect of Allium spices (garlic and onion) on the bioaccessibility of iron from Moringa oleifera leaves

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 12, Issue 3, Page 2115-2121, March 2024.
The bioaccessibility of iron from Moringa oleifera leaves in the presence of garlic and onion, two spices rich in sulfur compounds, was investigated. Although the incorporation of spices increased anti‐nutritional factors contents and generated disadvantageous phytates/iron molar ratios, there was a net improvement in iron bioaccessibility.
