Characterization of different oil soapstocks and their application in the lipase production by Aspergillus niger under solid state fermentation. [PDF]
Lipases are enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of the ester linkage in a triacylglycerol oil-water interface, while in non-aqueous environments they catalyze reverse reactions (esterification, transesterification and interesterification).

ABSTRACT In this study, marble waste (MARWAS) beneficiation was done using thermal, physical, and chemical means. The MARWAS samples collected from dumping yards of Kishangarh and Revdar districts of Rajasthan (India) and Ambaji district of Gujarat (India) were characterized by chemical composition analysis, scanning electron microscopy with energy ...

Cobalt@Silica Core‐Shell Catalysts for Hydrogenation of CO/CO2 Mixtures to Methane
Confined: The beneficial effect of a confined reaction locus for the COx methanation is demonstrated by comparing a cobalt containing core‐shell catalyst‐ Co@mSiO2‐with a supported Co/mSiO2 reference catalyst possessing the same Co particle size distribution as well as surface chemistry as the core‐shell catalyst.

Evaluation of phosphate sources using ruminal fiber transit kinetics methodology
IntroductionSince the low phosphorus content is one of the reasons for the low degradation of fiber in roughage such as pasture and by-products, fiber transit kinetics can be an important tool to evaluate differences in digestion depending on phosphorus ...

Closed Loop Phosphorus Recovery and Recycling for Sustainable Hydroponic Farming
The proposed closed loop recovery and recycling method achieves a 40% reduction in commercial fertiliser use with recycled nutrients, which can be integrated seamlessly within the existing hydroponic systems with minimal capital investment. Stable EC/pH levels enhance nutrient stability and operational efficiency, and achieve 33% fertiliser cost saving.

Evaluation of Fatty Acid Waste in the Synthesis of Oligo(Ether‐Ester)s
In this study, the waste of sunflower oil refinement was converted to a fatty acid glycidyl ester (FAGE). An unsaturated oligo(ether‐ester) (OEE) was synthesized by ring‐opening polymerization using propylene oxide (PO) and FAGE. Oligo(ether‐ester) production was achieved with a high yield of 80% at 5 h and 0°C when the mole ratio of PO : FAGE was 1 ...
