Structural Features of Nanomodified Cement Stone

open access: yesArchitecture and Engineering, 2016
The article reviews the effect of mixing water pre-modified with fulleroid nanomaterial on cement paste rheology and cement stone structure. Also pH value of modified mixing water is determined and its variation under the effect of nanomaterial is shown.

Enabling the recycling of rare earth elements through product design and trend analyses of hard disk drives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Hard disk drives consist of a complex mix of various materials. While Aluminum, Copper and Steel are easy to separate, actual recycling processes dilute containing rare earth elements to non-recoverable grades in other material streams.

A sustainable and effective bioprocessing approach for improvement of acid phosphatase production and rock phosphate solubilization by Bacillus haynesii strain ACP1

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
There is indeed a tremendous increase in biotechnological production on a global scale, more and more innovative bioprocesses, therefore, require to perform ideally not only in a small lab- but also on large production scales. Efficient microbial process

Investigation on partial acidulation of rock phosphate using acetic acid and acidic calcium phosphate solutions

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemical Engineering
This study explores an innovative method for the partial conversion of sparingly soluble rock phosphate (RP) into a biphasic, highly soluble calcium phosphate mixed with crystalline apatite.

Agronomic efficiency of partially acidulated and granulated Arraias phosphate rock [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo
Natural phosphate rocks (PR) are characterized by low phosphorus (P) solubility in water. Acidulation is the normal method to raise P solubility of these materials, however, it increases the cost and causes operational issues.

Comparative proteomic profiling reveals molecular characteristics associated with oogenesis and oocyte maturation during ovarian development of Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Time-dependent expression of proteins in ovary is important to understand oogenesis in insects. Here, we profiled the proteomes of developing ovaries from Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel) to obtain information about ovarian development with particular ...

Differences in Recycled Amendment Phosphorus Solubility and Transport When Interfaced to Soils of Dissimilar Characteristics

open access: yesSoil Use and Management, Volume 42, Issue 2, April‐June 2026.
ABSTRACT Increasing phosphorus (P) fertilizer use efficiency from bio‐based waste products (i.e., recycled amendments) requires promoting a larger proportion of bioavailable P in soil for plant uptake. Therefore, this study aimed to elucidate how recycled amendment P solubility and movement vary when interfaced with soils of contrasting characteristics.

Enhancing the Reactivity of Phosphate Rocks by Acidulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Indonesian soils requiring a considerably large amount of P fertilizer, since it comprises a large area of phosphate poor soils as Ultisols, Oxisols, and part of Inceptisols.

Optimization of Photocatalytic Conversion of Lignocellulosic Waste: A Green Route to Long‐Chain Alcohols

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 1, January 2026.
Tall oil fatty acids are first converted into their corresponding soaps, which subsequently undergo decarboxylation in the photoreactor to yield the respective alkenes. Through hydration with sulfuric acid, these alkenes are further transformed into the corresponding alcohols, which can serve as valuable precursors in downstream processes for the ...

Modelling primary proteolysis in cheddar cheese in commercial cool stores : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Technology in Bioprocess Engineering at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
One issue identified as a possible problem during the manufacture of cheddar cheese is the possibility of producing a non-uniform product. It was proposed that a pallet of cheese experiencing different time-temperature histories, depending on the ...
