Dynamics of a Sporadic Nosocomial Acinetobacter calcoaceticus – Acinetobacter baumannii Complex Population [PDF]
Our objective was to improve current knowledge of sporadic (Spo) nosocomial Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-Acinetobacter baumannii (Acb) complex populations, and thus better understand the epidemiology of Spo and endemoepidemic (EE) strains. Between 1999 and 2010, 133 isolates of Spo Acb complex were obtained from a single hospital.

This work introduces a label‐free SERS‐AI platform for rapid and interpretable diagnosis of polymicrobial urinary tract infections. By integrating Au@Ag@bPEI substrates with a CNN‐CBAM model, the system enables accurate bacterial identification and proportion prediction, while highlighting biologically relevant Raman features.

Biofilm Formation in Acinetobacter Baumannii: Genotype-Phenotype Correlation
Strains of Acinetobacter baumannii are commensal and opportunistic pathogens that have emerged as problematic hospital pathogens due to its biofilm formation ability and multiple antibiotic resistances.

ABSTRACT Objective The optimum duration of prophylactic antibiotics after pancreaticoduodenectomy following preoperative biliary drainage to prevent surgical site infections remains controversial. We evaluate whether a prolonged course of prophylactic antibiotics reduces surgical site infection after pancreaticoduodenectomy following biliary drainage ...

We investigated the impact of temporary stoma creation and closure on gut microbiota diversity in rectal cancer patients. 16S rRNA sequencing revealed that microbial diversity significantly decreased postoperatively in the stoma group but remained stable in non‐stoma patients.

Supersulfide biology and translational medicine for disease control
Abstract For decades, the major focus of redox biology has been oxygen, the most abundant element on Earth. Molecular oxygen functions as the final electron acceptor in the mitochondrial respiratory chain, contributing to energy production in aerobic organisms. In addition, oxygen‐derived reactive oxygen species including hydrogen peroxide and nitrogen

High-dose Sulbactam Treatment for Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia Caused by Carbapenem-Resistant [PDF]
Background Several antibiotics can be used to treat ventilator-associated pneumonia caused by carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii (CRAB-VAP) including high-dose sulbactam. However, the effectiveness of high-dose sulbactam therapy is not well known.
