The fatty acids from 42 isolates of Corynebacterium acnes were studied by gas-liquid chromatography, and ranged from C 10 to C 18 with trace amounts of fatty acids above C 18 . The predominant fatty acid had a carbon number of 14.66, the relative carbon number of isobranched C 15 fatty acid.
