Spectroscopic Signatures of Structural Disorder and Electron-Phonon Interactions in Trigonal Selenium Thin Films for Solar Energy Harvesting. [PDF]

open access: yesSmall Methods
Selenium plays hard to get ‐ volatile, low radiative efficiency, and highly sensitive to processing. Using a closed‐space encapsulation strategy, we probe room‐temperature photoluminescence and quantify structural disorder, showing how precise structural control can turn selenium into a high‐performance optoelectronic material of tomorrow.

The impact of acute and chronic stress on gastrointestinal physiology and function: a microbiota–gut–brain axis perspective

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 601, Issue 20, Page 4491-4538, 15 October 2023., 2023
Abstract figure legend Acute and chronic stress exert wide‐ranging effects across the gut–brain axis. In the case of acute stress, the enteric nervous system may be activated and gut contractility modified. This is associated with altered serotonin metabolism in the gastrointestinal tract as well as activation of the innate immune system and ...

Electrical Behavior of Vertical Pt/Au Schottky Diodes on GaN Homoepitaxy

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 220, Issue 16, August 2023., 2023
I–V characteristics investigation in the function of temperature shows barrier height inhomogeneities for vertical GaN Schottky diodes. These inhomogeneities are a common and crucial issue for power device application. Their potential origin (strain, doping variation, electrically active defects) is studied using Raman spectroscopy and deep‐level ...

Halide Perovskites and Their Derivatives for Efficient, High-Resolution Direct Radiation Detection: Design Strategies and Applications. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Mater
Lead‐halide perovskites, and their bismuth‐based derivatives, have given rise to X‐ray detectors that perform orders of magnitude better than incumbent technologies. Herein, the principles behind these rapid improvements in performance are discussed, along with the challenges for the commercialization of these new technologies, and their wider impact ...

Non‐verbal dichotic listening: A new cognitive hearing test for dementia

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Central hearing difficulties are a feature of Alzheimer's disease (AD) but not well captured by standard speech perception tests. METHODS We developed a non‐verbal dichotic listening test (NVDLT) based on everyday sounds, and compared this with a standard verbal dichotic listening test (VDLT) in 36 people with primary progressive ...

Cadmium and Zinc‐Doped p‐type Sb2Se3 Single Crystals and Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Cd and Zn were assessed as candidate p‐type dopants in Sb2Se3 single crystals in concentrations between 1016‐1020 cm−3. Both are effective in inducing p‐type conductivity, however Cd doped crystals exhibit lower resistivity across a wider range of dopant levels.

Digital Technologies: Description, Classification, and Links to Circular Economy

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 34, Issue 6, Page 6612-6639, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Digital technologies (DTs) and circular economy (CE) are currently two topics that are expected to contribute significantly to sustainable development, and digitization is generally considered a key enabler of CE. However, most studies only cover the most known Industry 4.0 technologies, and very limited research detailing how DTs can support ...
