Acousto-Optic Dispersive Devices for High-Power Pulsed Laser Optics

2022 Wave Electronics and its Application in Information and Telecommunication Systems (WECONF), 2022
In the report, we discuss new and promising configurations and applications of acousto-optic devices in high-power pulsed laser technology: spatial modulators and dispersion delay lines for broadband femtosecond laser pulses and Q-switches for nanosecond

Application of layered structures for mid-infrared acousto-optics

Acousto-Optics and Applications, 2019
Acousto-optical devices, such as deflectors, modulators or filters, provide an effective way of light control and signal processing techniques. However, their operation range is limited to visible and near-infrared wavelengths due to quadratic law of ...

Acousto-optics and acousto-optical components

2020

Nonreciprocity of acousto-optic interaction in collinear tunable acousto-optic filters

Applied Optics, 2008
The investigation of a nonreciprocal effect for the example of collinear acousto-optic interaction is presented. It is shown that this effect influences the parameters of diffraction and the operation of modern acousto-optic devices, particularly acousto-optic tunable filters (AOTFs), at the frequencies of ultrasound of about 1 GHz and higher.

Acousto-optic interaction in Raman–Nath acousto-optic diffraction

The European Physical Journal D, 2019
In this article, acousto-optic interaction in Raman–Nath acousto-optic diffraction has been discussed. By studying the relations between the power of the diffracted light and its origin in the ultrasonic field, we found that the phase of the diffracted light is modulated temporally and spatially by the ultrasonic wave.

Acousto-optic gyroscope

2018 IEEE Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS), 2018
An Acousto-Optic Gyroscope (AOG) consisting of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) embedded into two inherently matched piezoelectric SAW resonators sharing the same cavity is presented. This constitutes the first demonstration of a MEMS strain-based optomechanical gyroscope that uses refractive index change due to the acousto-optic effect rather than ...

Acousto-optic devices

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2003
An acousto-optic device comprises a first light source for producing a light beam, a light-transmitting material capable of transmitting the light beam along an optical path through the light-transmitting material, a light-absorbing material adjacent to the light-transmitting material, and a pulsed light source capable of directing a pulsed light beam ...
