Conformational Flexibility in the Multidrug Efflux System Protein AcrA [PDF]

open access: yesStructure, 2006
Intrinsic resistance to multiple drugs in many gram-negative bacterial pathogens is conferred by resistance nodulation cell division efflux pumps, which are composed of three essential components as typified by the extensively characterized Escherichia coli AcrA-AcrB-TolC system.

Molecular cloning and characterization of acrA and acrE genes of Escherichia coli [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1993
The DNA fragment containing the acrA locus of the Escherichia coli chromosome has been cloned by using a complementation test. The nucleotide sequence indicates the presence of two open reading frames (ORFs). Sequence analysis suggests that the first ORF encodes a 397-residue lipoprotein with a 24-amino-acid signal peptide at its N terminus.

Genetic analysis of acrA and lir mutations of Escherichia coli [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1982
An analysis of acrA (acriflavine- and methylene blue-sensitive) and lir (lincomycin- and erythromycin-sensitive) mutants of Escherichia coli indicated that these mutations are probably within the same gene.

ACRA: An Autonomic and Expandable Architecture for Cognitive Radio Nodes

2010 International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP), 2010
Cognitive radio has been a research hotspot because of its promise to improve the utilization of the assigned but unused radio spectrum. The complexity of current networks has been a main drawback of network development, and so will the problem of cognitive radio networks. To solve the complexity problem, autonomic computing has been proposed to enable
