Efflux Pump Gene Expression in Erwinia chrysanthemi Is Induced by Exposure to Phenolic Acids

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2007
Salicylic acid (SA) is an important signaling molecule in local and systemic plant resistance. Following infection by microbial pathogens and the initial oxidative burst in plants, SA accumulation functions in the amplification of defense gene expression.

Optimization of zofimarin production by an endophytic fungus, Xylaria sp. Acra L38 [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Microbiology, 2014
To optimize the medium for high zofimarin production, sucrose maltose, glucose, tryptone and peptone were used in an orthogonal array design experiment, where the highest value of zofimarin produced was 25.6 μg/mL. This value was about 3 times higher than that obtained with Czapek yeast extract (CzYE) culture medium. A study with Plackett-Burman design

Effects of Solid–Liquid Partition Coefficients and Soil Properties on the Transfer of Natural Radionuclides (238U, 226Ra, and 210Po) to Water Spinach (Ipomoea aquatica)

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Soil Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Solid–liquid partition coefficient (Kd) and soil‐to‐plant transfer factor (TF) are two important parameters in numerical models for predicting radionuclide availability in plants. They have implications for agricultural strategies in high‐background radiation areas, where the activity concentrations of naturally occurring radionuclides (NORs) are ...
