Transformation of Actinidia eriantha: A potential species for functional genomics studies in Actinidia

Plant Cell Reports, 2006
Protocols were developed for regeneration and Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of Actinidia eriantha Benth. A. eriantha has a number of features that make it a useful tool for functional genomics in Actinidia: the vines are relatively small and non-vigorous in nature, flowers form all over the vine including on lower axillary branches and the ...

Leaf flavonoids of Actinidia

Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 1994
Abstract Leaf flavonoid chemistry of 22 taxa of Actinidia (Actinidiaceae) was studied. Flavonols predominated and the taxa studied were characterised by the presence of mono-, di- and in some cases, triglycosides. The taxa were distinguished from one another by their flavonoid profiles.

A kiwifruit cultivar crossbred with Actinidia chinensis and Actinidia rufa has practical tolerance to Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae biovar 3

Journal of Plant Pathology, 2019
The kiwifruit brand Sanuki Kiwicco® comprises five kiwifruit cultivars (KagawaUP-Ki1, −2, −3, −4, and − 5) that are hybrids of Actinidia chinensis and Actinidia rufa, have high quality, small fruits with a sugar content of 17 to 20% and a low level of protease, thus eliminating any mouth irritation. The cultivars of Sanuki Kiwicco® are more tolerant to

Fruits of the Actinidia Genus

2007
Kiwifruit is the most well-known crop in the genus Actinidia. Although Actinidia fruit sales in the international market are dominated by a single kiwifruit cultivar Actinidia deliciosa "Hayward," there are a considerable number of cultivars and selections in the genus that have widely diverse shape, size, and hairiness.

Cytoplasmic DNA in Actinidia

2016
Plants have three genomes in their cells: the nuclear genome, the mitochondrial genome (mtDNA), and the chloroplast genome (cpDNA). They replicate independently on cell division and independently of the DNA located in the nucleus. There are few mitochondrion genome sequences until now owing to high structure variation and abundant repeat sequences ...
