The role of proprioception in action recognition
Consciousness and Cognition, 2003This study aimed at evaluating the role of proprioception in the process of matching the final position of one's limbs with an intentional movement. Two experiments were realised with the same paradigm of conscious recognition of one's own limb position from a distorted position.

Action Recognition from Experience
2012 IEEE Ninth International Conference on Advanced Video and Signal-Based Surveillance, 2012A reinforcement learning model, which allows for an agent to interact with a simulated 3D learning environment under the initial guidance of an all knowing oracle is proposed. Methods are presented that allow the agent to learn how to perform a set of task oriented actions.

Action Recognition with Temporal Relationships
2013 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops, 2013Action recognition is an important component in human-machine interactive systems and video analysis. Besides low-level actions, temporal relationships are also important for many actions, which are not fully studied for recognizing actions. We model the temporal structure of low-level actions based on dense trajectory groups.

Combined Classifiers for Action Recognition
2006In this study, a new method for recognizing everyday life actions is proposed. To enhance robustness, each sequence is characterized globally. Detection of moving areas is first performed on each image. All binary points form a volume in the three-dimensional (3D) space (x,y,t). This volume is characterized by its geometric 3D moments which are used to

Action Recognition with Global Features
2005In this study, a new method allowing recognizing and segmenting everyday life actions is proposed. Only one camera is utilized without calibration. Viewpoint invariance is obtained by several acquisitions of the same action. To enhance robustness, each sequence is characterized globally: a detection of moving areas is first computed on each image.
