The Control Of Heparin Administration By The Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time(APTT)

Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 1981
The UK National Quality Control Trials have previously shown that the various APTT methods differ in their ability to detect low levels of heparin (Poller et al 1980). UK and US proficiency surveys have also shown lack of linearity of some APTT methods over a range of heparin concentrations.

C0138 Utilization of waveform analysis of activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT)- clinical and prognostic value

Thrombosis Research, 2012
Background: The formation of thrombus in the performance of APTT can be visualized in graphical form (as wave) and the study of wave (waveform analysis) provides information on hemostasis. An abnormal form of the curve, biphasic, was associated with disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and sepsis, caused by the in vitro Ca + +−dependent ...

Correlation between activated clotting time (ACT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) in interventional neuroradiology

2013
Learning Objectives: To evaluate the correlation between the activated clotting time (ACT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) during endovascular coil embolization (ECE) of cerebral aneurysms in order to improve the unfractionated heparin (UFH)...

[Prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT): not always indicative of increased risk of bleeding].

Nederlands tijdschrift voor geneeskunde, 2009
A 69-year-old man of Jewish descent with a second local relapse of rectal carcinoma was found to have a markedly prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT). Further evaluation revealed a homozygous factor XI deficiency. Despite various operations in the past he had never displayed any bleeding problems.

[The effect of factor VIII:C activity on the activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) in the dog. Adaptation of the aPTT as a screening test for canine hemophilia A?].

DTW. Deutsche tierarztliche Wochenschrift, 1993
The factor VIII:C-sensitivity of the aPTT in dogs was investigated for 2 different, commercially available reagents. For this purpose, 45 plasmas with a decreased factor VIII:C-activity, which were collected from haemophilic dogs (n = 10) at variable points of time of a substitution therapy were used.
