Impact of conductive magnetite nanoparticles and anode polarization on glucose fermentation
Abstract BACKGROUND Electrically conductive materials and electrochemical stimulation strategies are increasingly explored to steer microbial fermentation towards desired metabolic outputs. These approaches also hold remarkable potential to couple wastewater treatment (WWT) to the production of value‐added compounds, in turn enhancing environmental ...

Designing biochars for improved sorptive removal of per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances
Abstract The widespread occurrence of per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in aquatic environments, along with their adverse impacts on human health, has been recognized as an emerging issue. Sorption using carbon‐based sorbents is the most common approach for PFAS removal.

Cold EI—The Way to Improve GC‐MS and Increase Its Range of Applications
ABSTRACT Gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC‐MS) with Cold electron ionization (EI) is based on interfacing the GC and MS with a supersonic molecular beam (SMB) along with electron ionization of vibrationally cold sample compounds in the SMB in a contact‐free fly‐through ion source (hence the name Cold EI).

Pulsed electrooxidation combined with magnetic biochar adsorption achieved up to 98.9% Hg(II) removal from synthetic water. Optimal conditions (pH‐6.03, 34.15 min, 1.55 g/L biochar, 0.43 A, 227 mg/L Hg) enhanced efficiency beyond electrooxidation alone, demonstrating a synergistic, energy‐efficient treatment approach.
