An Active Fault-Tolerant Flight Control Strategy

2013
This chapter deals with the next step following the design of an FDD system, i.e. appropriate recovery strategies, based on all available actuator/sensor/communication resources. An active fault tolerant flight control strategy based on H ∞ design tools is presented.

Active Fault-Tolerant Control: Current and Past

2017
This chapter reviews the current and past status of the progress made in the area of FTC research. Most of the FTC techniques depends on the type of fault occurred into the system, where the FD plays a significant role. So, the chapter starts with classifying the types of faults followed by the discussion on fault diagnosis and the analysis of various ...

Fault-tolerant control of three-pole active magnetic bearing

Expert Systems with Applications, 2009
Active magnetic bearings have many advantages over conventional bearings due to contactless operation and adjustable force dynamics. However, one of the obstacles associated with these bearings is failure modes, which may result in destructive rotor dynamic behaviour.

Fault estimation and active fault tolerant control for servo systems

2016 IEEE International Conference on Real-time Computing and Robotics (RCAR), 2016
In this paper, the problems of fault estimation and fault tolerant control for motor servo systems are investigated. The motor servo systems are modeled as continuous-time linear systems with unknown inputs and actuator faults. Based on the faulty system model, a robust fault estimation and active fault tolerant control scheme is proposed.

On active fault tolerant control for a class of time-delay system

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2009
Abstract This paper deals with the problem of active fault tolerant control for a class of linear time-delay systems. A new H∞ controller in generalized internal model architecture and an adaptive observer-based fault estimator are proposed for the active fault tolerant control system.

Intelligent active fault tolerant control system and flight safety

2013 IEEE 7th International Conference on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems (IDAACS), 2013
In this paper, reconfigurable (active) flight control system for recovering controllability of the aircraft when an unexpected problem (such as faults or failures to the actuators/sensors or structural damage) occurs during a flight is proposed.

On active fault-tolerant control in behavioral context

2012
In this note, we present a model-free approach to solve an active fault-tolerant control problem for linear time-invariant systems using the mathematical framework of behavioral theory. In our control structure, we do not require an explicit fault diagnosis module to identify the complete fault information.
