Fault-tolerant control for a multi-propeller airship based on adaptive sliding mode method
An airship is a kind of light-than-air vehicle, which is composed of a gas-filled cyst body and a propulsion system. The airship mainly flies in near-space, and because of the exposure to the lower temperature, solar radiation and long-term operation, it

An Adaptive Approach to Active Fault-Tolerant Control [PDF]
In this Faults or process failures may drastically change system behaviour leading to performance degradation and instability. The reliability and fault-tolerance of a control system can be achieved through the design of either an ac- tive or passive Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) scheme.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Damage Tolerant Active Contro l: Concept and State of the Art [PDF]
Damage tolerant active control is a new research area relating to fault tolerant control design applied to mechanical structures. It encompasses several techniques already used to design controllers and to detect and to diagnose faults, as well to ...

Fault-tolerant operation of single-phase SR generators [PDF]
This paper studies fault-tolerant operation of multipole single-phase switched reluctance generators (SRGs), in particular, an 8/8-pole switched reluctance machine.

Global Fault-Tolerant Control of Underactuated Aerial Vehicles with Redundant Actuators
In this paper, we consider the fault-tolerant control problem for aerial vehicles with redundant actuators. The redundant actuator brings difficulty in fault identification and isolation.

This paper proposes a novel hybrid fault-tolerant control system (HFTCS) with dedicated non-linear controllers: artificial neural network (ANN) and sliding mode control (SMC) for active and passive parts, respectively.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control strategies for aerospace systems
This work presents two active fault tolerant control systems for aerospace applications. The former case study regards an aircraft longitudinal autopilot and the latter one a satellite attitude control system, both in case of faults affecting the ...
