Fault-tolerant control for a multi-propeller airship based on adaptive sliding mode method

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2020
An airship is a kind of light-than-air vehicle, which is composed of a gas-filled cyst body and a propulsion system. The airship mainly flies in near-space, and because of the exposure to the lower temperature, solar radiation and long-term operation, it

Fault Tolerant Ancillary Function of Power Converters in Distributed Generation Power System within a Microgrid Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Distributed generation (DG) is deeply changing the existing distribution networks which become very sophisticated and complex incorporating both active and passive equipment.

Design of hybrid fault-tolerant control system for air-fuel ratio control of internal combustion engines using artificial neural network and sliding mode control against sensor faults

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2023
This paper proposes a novel hybrid fault-tolerant control system (HFTCS) with dedicated non-linear controllers: artificial neural network (ANN) and sliding mode control (SMC) for active and passive parts, respectively.

An Adaptive Approach to Active Fault-Tolerant Control [PDF]

open access: yesThe Open Automation and Control Systems Journal, 2009
In this Faults or process failures may drastically change system behaviour leading to performance degradation and instability. The reliability and fault-tolerance of a control system can be achieved through the design of either an ac- tive or passive Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) scheme.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Global Fault-Tolerant Control of Underactuated Aerial Vehicles with Redundant Actuators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2019
In this paper, we consider the fault-tolerant control problem for aerial vehicles with redundant actuators. The redundant actuator brings difficulty in fault identification and isolation.

Fault Tolerant Control for Nonlinear Singular Stochastic Distribution Systems Based on Fuzzy Modeling

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
When the desired output probability density function (PDF) is unknown, the active fault-tolerant control (FTC) method for the non-Gaussian nonlinear singular stochastic distribution control (SDC) system is investigated in this paper.

Fault Diagnosis and Fault Tolerant Control of Wind Turbines: An Overview

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Wind turbines are playing an increasingly important role in renewable power generation. Their complex and large-scale structure, however, and operation in remote locations with harsh environmental conditions and highly variable stochastic loads make ...

Quantum gate learning in engineered qubit networks: Toffoli gate with always-on interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We put forward a strategy to encode a quantum operation into the unmodulated dynamics of a quantum network without the need of external control pulses, measurements or active feedback.
