Fault analysis and fault diagnosis method review on active distribution network

open access: yes, 2017
This paper analyses the current situation and researches the fault cause and the common fault type in active distribution network (ADN). The fault diagnosis methods are summarized and the advantage of the common methods are compared. The general problems

An analytical method for strength verification of buried steel pipelines at normal fault crossings

open access: yes, 2011
The complex problem of strength verification of a buried steel pipeline crossing the trace of a normal active fault is treated analytically, and a refined methodology for the calculation of the axial and bending pipeline strains is presented. In essence,

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Analytical Optimal Currents for Multiphase PMSMs Under Fault Conditions and Saturation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
An original analytical expression is presented in this paper to obtain optimal currents minimizing the copper losses of a multi-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) under fault conditions.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Hazard analysis of future surface displacements on active faults based on the recurrence interval of strong earthquakes

open access: yesOpen Geosciences
Coseismic surface displacements pose a serious threat to the safety of linear infrastructures on active faults. A reasonable evaluation of surface displacements on active faults is important.

Distributed control of a fault tolerant modular multilevel inverter for direct-drive wind turbine grid interfacing

open access: yes, 2012
Modular generator and converter topologies are being pursued for large offshore wind turbines to achieve fault tolerance and high reliability. A centralized controller presents a single critical point of failure which has prevented a truly modular and ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
