Hardware Realization of Nonlinear Activation Functions for NN-based Optical Equalizers [PDF]

To reduce the complexity of the hardware implementation of neural network-based optical channel equalizers, we demonstrate that the performance of the biLSTM equalizer with approximated activation functions is close to that of the original model.

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry

Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

Active Ion Optical Clock [PDF]

In this paper, we propose a scheme of active ion optical clock with detailed pumping method, lasing states, output power, linewidth and light shift. Using 171Yb+ ions in a Paul Trap we propose to utilize a Fabry-Perot resonator to realize lasing of active optical frequency standards.
