Solar transition region in the quiet Sun and active regions

open access: yes, 2010
The solar transition region (TR), in which above the photosphere the tempera- ture increases rapidly and the density drops dramatically, is believed to play an important role in coronal heating and solar wind acceleration.

Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Light Bridges and Solar Active Region Evolution Processes

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
The formation mechanism of light bridges (LBs) is strongly related to the dynamic evolution of solar active regions (ARs). To study the relationship between LB formation and AR evolution phases, we employ 109 LB samples from 69 ARs in 2014 using ...

Electromagnetic monitoring in seismically active regions of Siberia

open access: yesГеофизический журнал, 2012
Field data of the electromagnetic monitoring of controlled source have been obtained in two seismically active regions of Siberia. The article demonstrates an approach to the interpretation of regime observations data and it attempts to explain the ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

The Sub-Surface Structure of a Large Sample of Active Regions

open access: yes, 2012
We employ ring-diagram analysis to study the sub-surface thermal structure of active regions. We present results using a large number of active regions over the course of Solar Cycle 23.
