Screening and characterization of a highly active chitosanase based on metagenomic technology

Journal of Molecular Catalysis B: Enzymatic, 2015
Abstract A metagenomic fosmid library containing 8 × 10 4 clones was constructed from a soil sample taken from the stacking place of shrimp and crab shells. 12 clones with chitosanase activity were screened using LB agar plates containing 0.12 wt.% chitosan.

Activity-based screening system for the discovery of neuraminidase inhibitors using protein chip technology

BioChip Journal, 2012
Infectious bacteria or viral strain often expresses a family of neuraminidases to invade human body through the respiratory system. A role of the neuraminidase is cleaving specific glycosidic linkages of neuraminic acids when the pathogens are attached to cellular surface of host organisms.

Antioxidant Screening of Beverages using the Online HPLC–DPPH• Assay Incorporating Active Flow Technology Chromatography Columns

2014
The analysis and isolation of antioxidants from complex samples requires a separation step to fractionate the sample, followed by a means to measure the presence of the antioxidants. This can be conveniently achieved using liquid chromatography coupled with an on-line antioxidant assay.
