UNCERTAINTY OF THE RESULTS OF THE RADON CONTROL IN HOUSINGS. PART 1. THE PROBLEM OF ASSESSMENT OF THE RADON CONCENTRATION AND MODERN CONTROL PRINCIPLES

open access: yesРадиационная гигиена, 2018
Radon control in buildings is being performed for decades in different countries of the world, including Russia. However, there is a lack of unified standard for the assessment of the uncertainty of the results of the control, considering the protocol ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Antioxidant activity coefficient, mechanism, and kinetics of different derivatives of flavones and flavanones towards superoxide radical

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2012
A systematic investigation of the electrochemically generated superoxide radical (O2●-) has been conducted in the presence of some flavonoids. Cyclic voltammetry was used to generate O2●- by reducing the molecular oxygen in DMSO at room temperature.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Application of several activity coefficient models to water-organic-electrolyte aerosols of atmospheric interest [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2005
In this work, existing and modified activity coefficient models are examined in order to assess their capabilities to describe the properties of aqueous solution droplets relevant in the atmosphere.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Characterization of Acoustic Emissions from Concrete Based on Energy Activity Coefficient

open access: yesBuildings
Single-stage compression loading experiments were carried out on concrete specimens of various strengths to explore the characteristic parameters of the acoustic emission signal and its damage evolution law in the concrete damage process. These specimens

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.
