Multi‐Technique Study of the Thermospheric Wind Responses to the November 3–4, 2021 Storm

open access: yesSpace Weather
The responses of thermospheric winds at mid and low latitudes to the intense geomagnetic storm of November 3–4, 2021, are examined using multi‐technique observations and simulations with the Thermosphere Ionosphere Electrodynamics General Circulation ...

Space Activity Regulatory Matters of Space Law

open access: yesAdvanced Space Law, 2020
This article studies the issues of international space law and analyses the reasons for its occurrence. At the moment, space law actively develops, and space exploration has become increasingly popular and demanded. Nevertheless, this field’s legal regulations were drawn up in the mid-20th century and are now partly obsolete. Moreover, the set of space-

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

The New Geomagnetic Monitoring Network in China: Insights From the 2024 Mother's Day Superstorm

open access: yesSpace Weather
China has established a ground‐based network system, that is the Chinese Meridian Project (CMP), to continuously monitor the geomagnetic field. The superstorm in May 2024 was analyzed using the CMP data.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Assimilation of ICON/MIGHTI Wind Profiles into a Coupled Thermosphere/Ionosphere Model Using Ensemble Square Root Filter

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Precise characterization of the thermospheric neutral wind is essential for comprehending the dynamic interactions within the ionosphere-thermosphere system, as evidenced by the development of models like HWM and the need for localized data.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
