Acute liver injury and octreotide.
The American journal of gastroenterology, 1996Octreotide is a synthetic analogue of somatostatin with therapeutic applications in a variety of endocrine and gastrointestinal disorders. We report a patient with acromegaly who developed acute hepatocellular liver injury after receiving two 0.1-mg doses of octreotide. The drug causality was confirmed by rechallenge.
