Overexpression of SET is a recurrent event associated with poor outcome and contributes to protein phosphatase 2A inhibition in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesHaematologica, 2012
Background Protein phosphatase 2A is a novel potential therapeutic target in several types of chronic and acute leukemia, and its inhibition is a common event in acute myeloid leukemia.

Characterisation of the role of KLF5 in normal haemopoiesis and acute myeloid leukaemia. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Krüppel-like factor 5 (KLF5) encodes a zinc finger transcription factor involved in growth, differentiation and apoptosis of a number of different tissues, and it has previously been implicated as either a tumour suppressor or oncogene in various solid ...

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.

Mutations in TET2 and DNMT3A genes are associated with changes in global and gene-specific methylation in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2017
Acute myeloid leukemia is characterized by its high biological and clinical heterogeneity, which represents an important barrier for a precise disease classification and accurate therapy.

Azacitidine as salvage therapy for acute myeloid leukemia in a severely ill patient

open access: yesHematology Reports, 2014
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a hematological malignancy of myeloid progenitor cells that disrupt normal hematopoiesis. Current chemotherapy regimens result in complete remission in many cases; however, there exists no standard efficacious therapy for ...

In vitro and in vivo analysis of human cell-based immunotherapies for acute myeloid leukemia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Conventional cancer therapies like surgery, radiation and chemotherapy help to eliminate primary tumor masses but often fail to eradicate disseminated tumor cells.

Fibrates Inhibit PLTP‐induced M2 Macrophage Infiltration and Increase the Sensitivity of Hepatocellular Carcinoma to ICIs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phospholipid transfer protein(PLTP) plays a critical role in forming a complex with kinase A (AURKA) and P65. This interaction facilitates phosphorylation of P65 at Ser536, leading to the activation of the NF‐κB signaling pathway. Ultimately, this leads to the upregulation of downstream cytokines, including IL‐6, IL‐8, and CSF‐1, which promotes M2 ...

t(6;9)(p22;q34)/DEK-NUP214-rearranged pediatric myeloid leukemia: an international study of 62 patients

open access: yesHaematologica, 2014
Acute myeloid leukemia with t(6;9)(p22;q34) is listed as a distinct entity in the 2008 World Health Organization classification, but little is known about the clinical implications of t(6;9)-positive myeloid leukemia in children.

Exploring downstream pathways of aberrantly activated kinases for targeted leukemia therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Genetic alterations resulting in uncontrolled protein tyrosine kinases (PTKs) activity are frequently found in leukemia and in human solid cancers. Although the development of small molecule kinase inhibitors has revolutionized therapy for PTKinduced ...

Gut Mycobiota‐Associated Tryptophan Catabolites Protect Against Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the intestinal microbiota participates in the progression of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through microbiota‐host interaction. However, the beneficial role of commensal mycobiota in MASLD progression remains poorly understood.
