METTL14‐Mediated N6‐Methyladenosine Exacerbates Acute Lung Injury via USP30/NCOA4‐Dependent Ferroptosis

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
METTL14‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine aggravates ischemia/reperfusion‐induced acute lung injury by enhancing YTHDF1‐dependent USP30 expression. USP30 stabilizes NCOA4 through deubiquitination, thereby promoting ferritinophagy, iron accumulation, lipid peroxidation, and ferroptosis in lung epithelial cells.

Applications of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells for Treatment of Diseases

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
This schematic summarizes the major therapeutic mechanisms of MSCs across different disease systems and highlights factors associated with MSCs dysfunction, together with current strategies to enhance MSCs function and therapeutic efficacy. This summary diagram illustrates that MSCs exert therapeutic effects in various diseases through multiple ...

Therapeutic Strategy of Extracorporeal Carbon Dioxide Removal in Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Combined With Central Airway Stricture: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
This case demonstrates that medium‐flow ECCO2R can serve as an effective bridge to therapy in AECOPD combined with central airway stricture, safely correcting refractory hypercapnia and providing a stable window for successful bronchoscopic stenting and ventilator weaning. ABSTRACT This case report highlights a novel and successful therapeutic strategy

Prehospital PEEP for Acute Respiratory Distress: Protocol for a Scoping Review

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 8, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Positive end‐expiratory pressure (PEEP) can improve oxygenation and reduce the work of breathing in patients with acute respiratory distress. In the prehospital setting, systems providing continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), bi‐level positive airway pressure (BiPAP) and adjustable pressure‐limiting (APL) valves are used ...
