ABSTRACT Background Generally, studies in perinatal epidemiology restrict cohort entry to 20 weeks of gestation, but exposures and outcomes may occur earlier. This restriction may introduce left truncation bias. Objectives To examine the impact of left truncation bias when estimating the causal effect of abruption on perinatal mortality in the context ...

ACV: an arithmetic circuit verifier [PDF]
Based on a hierarchical verification methodology, we present an arithmetic circuit verifier ACV, in which circuits expressed in a hardware description language, also called ACV, are symbolically verified using Binary Decision Diagrams for Boolean functions and multiplicative Binary Moment Diagrams (*BMDs) for wordlevel functions.

Quantum Tunneling and Unitarity Features of an S-matrix for Gravitational Collapse
Starting from the semiclassical reduced-action approach to transplanckian scattering by Amati, Veneziano and one of us and from our previous quantum extension of that model, we investigate the S-matrix expression for inelastic processes by extending to ...

This retrospective case series of acyclovir‐resistant HSV infection in pediatric patients undergoing allogeneic HSCT discusses the clinical course, associated complications, and treatment, including side effects. We propose the first algorithm for investigating and managing acyclovir‐resistant HSV infections in pediatric HSCT recipients, highlighting ...

HHV‐8/KSHV in Solid Organ Transplantation: Current Gaps of Knowledge and Future Directions
Risk mitigation strategies, including donors/recipients screening, DNAemia monitoring in recipients at risk, CNI‐to‐mTOR inhibitors switch, antivirals, and rituximab for KICS, may mitigate the impact of HHV‐8/KSHV infection in SOT. This review provides an update on KICS, identifies research gaps, and summarizes advances in screening and management ...

Large-N estimates of universal amplitudes of the CP^{N-1} theory and comparison with the JQ model
We present computations of certain finite-size scaling functions and universal amplitude ratios in the large-N limit of the CP^{N-1} field theory. We pay particular attention to the uniform susceptibility, the spin stiffness and the specific heat.

Covariant velocity and density perturbations in quasi-Newtonian cosmologies [PDF]
Recently a covariant approach to cold matter universes in the zero-shear hypersurfaces (or longitudinal) gauge has been developed. This approach reveals the existence of an integrability condition, which does not appear in standard non-covariant ...
