Functional Expression of the Arachis hypogaea L. Acyl-ACP Thioesterases AhFatA and AhFatB Enhances Fatty Acid Production in Synechocystis sp. PCC6803

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
Palmitoleic acid (C16:1) and stearic acid (C18:0) are precursors of polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are the focus of intensive global research due to their nutritional value, medicinal applications, and potential use as biofuel.

5’‐Methylthioadenosine Metabolic Reprogramming Drives H3K79 Monomethylation‐Mediated PAK2 Upregulation to Promote Cadmium‐Induced Breast Cancer Progression by Impairing Autophagic Flux

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cadmium, a carcinogenic heavy metal, drives breast cancer progression via metabolic reprogramming and autophagic flux disruption. Multi‐omics revealed cadmium‐induced 5'‐methylthioadenosine depletion activates DOT1L‐mediated H3K79me1 at PAK2 promoter, upregulating PAK2 to block autophagy and driving malignancy. Clinically, 5'‐methylthioadenosine levels

PIEZO1‐GPX4 Axis Mediates Mechanical Stress‐Induced Vertebral Growth Plate Dysplasia via Ferroptosis Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical stress activates PIEZO1 in vertebral growth plate chondrocytes, triggering ferroptosis through direct binding and inhibition of GPX4. This axis promotes lipid peroxidation and pathological ossification, accelerating spinal deformities. Clinical and genetic evidence (Piezo1‐cKO) confirms its role in scoliosis progression.

Proteome and Histone-like Acetylation Analysis of Conjugated Linoleic Acid Production by Lactobacillus plantarum p-8 Induced by Linoleic Acid [PDF]

open access: yesShipin Kexue
In this study, changes in proteome and histone-like acetylation levels of Lactobacillus plantarum p-8 induced by linoleic acid (LA) were explored to investigate the mechanism of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) production.

Glucose‐Responsive PAGR1‐Regulated Skeletal Muscle Gene Program Controls Systemic Glucose Homeostasis and Hepatic Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study reveals that PAXIP1‐associated glutamate‐rich protein 1 (PAGR1), a glucose‐responsive regulator in skeletal muscle, modulates systemic glucose homeostasis and hepatic metabolism. Muscle‐specific PAGR1 deletion enhances insulin signaling, promotes glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4) translocation, and protects against high‐fat‐diet‐induced insulin ...

Identification of a putative stearoyl acyl-carrier-protein desaturase gene from Saussurea involucrata

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2015
Saussurea involucrata Kar. et Kir. tolerates severe abiotic stresses including cold, and the level of membrane fatty acid desaturation is associated with its cold acclimation.

Anticodon Engineered Transfer RNA (tRNASUAG) Inhibits Hepatitis B Virus Replication by Promoting the Degradation of Core Protein

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employed tRNASUAG, an anticodon‐engineered tRNA (ACE‐tRNA), to introduce a phosphorylatable serine into the C‐terminal domain of HBc by reading through its stop codon, thereby potentially promoting the ubiquitin‐proteasome degradation of HBc, and subsequently inhibiting HBV replication. Through a tRNASUAG‐gHBV1‐tRNASUAG‐gHBV2‐tRNASUAG tandem

Movement Mechanisms Harness Lévy Flight for Energy‐Efficient Wastewater Treatment in Microalgae–Bacteria Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, our novel model that integrates metabolism with motility dynamics reveals that microalgae shift bacterial movement toward Lévy flight patterns, enhancing encounter rates and self‐aggregation. This microecological manipulation reduces energy costs, strengthens functions such as pollutant removal and system stability.

Norepinephrine Induces Sertoli Cell Ferroptosis via Receptors Desensitization Causing Stress‐Related Male Reproductive Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Psychological stress activates the sympathetic–adrenal axis, elevating norepinephrine (NE) and suppressing reproductive hormones, thereby impairing male reproduction. Excess NE overactivates and desensitizes β‐adrenergic receptors (β‐ARs), triggering Sertoli cell ferroptosis and disrupting spermatogenesis.
