Control of fatty acid distribution in phosphatidylcholine of spinach leaves

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1971
The acylation of lysophosphatidylcholine by enzyme preparations from spinach leaves was studied. The acylation reaction was followed by the incorporation of 14C-labeled fatty acids from the respective coenzyme A derivatives into phosphatidylcholine.

On the symplectic invariance of log Kodaira dimension [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Suppose that A and B are symplectomorphic smooth affine varieties. If A is acylic of dimension 2 then B has the same log Kodaira dimension as A. If the dimension of A is 3, has log Kodaira dimension 2 and satisfies some other conditions then B cannot be of log general type.

Autoacylation of myelin proteolipid protein with acyl coenzyme A.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1987
Rat brain myelin proteolipid protein (PLP) is known to contain long chain, covalently bound fatty acids. In the course of characterizing the mechanism of acylation, we found that the isolated PLP, in the absence of any membrane fraction, was esterified after incubation with [3H]palmitoyl coenzyme A (CoA).

Acyl Coenzyme A Thioesterase Them5/Acot15 Is Involved in Cardiolipin Remodeling and Fatty Liver Development

open access: yesMolecular and Cellular Biology, 2012
Acyl coenzyme A (acyl-CoA) thioesterases hydrolyze thioester bonds in acyl-CoA metabolites. The majority of mammalian thioesterases are α/β-hydrolases and have been studied extensively.

Engineered Living Energy Materials

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered living energy materials (ELEMs) are nascent research frontier for enabling sustainable energy conversion and storage. These materials exhibit unique characteristics such as self‐regeneration, biodegradability, environmental response, and evolutionary adaptability. This paper overviews different energy conversion bio‐modules, summarizes their

Enumerating Unique Computational Graphs via an Iterative Graph Invariant [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this report, we describe a novel graph invariant for computational graphs (colored directed acylic graphs) and how we used it to generate all distinct computational graphs up to isomorphism for small graphs. The algorithm iteratively applies isomorphism-invariant operations, which take into account the graph structure and coloring, and outputs a ...

Host Acyl Coenzyme A Binding Protein Regulates Replication Complex Assembly and Activity of a Positive-Strand RNA Virus

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 2012
All positive-strand RNA viruses reorganize host intracellular membranes to assemble their replication complexes. Similarly, brome mosaic virus (BMV) induces two alternate forms of membrane-bound RNA replication complexes: vesicular spherules and stacks ...

Pharmacokinetics and Safety of Fenofibrate in Participants with Mild Hepatic Impairment or with Advanced Fibrosis due to Metabolic‐Associated Fatty Liver Disease

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Fenofibrate is contraindicated in patients with advanced hepatic fibrosis due to limited clinical data. We evaluated the pharmacokinetics and safety of fenofibrate in participants with mild hepatic impairment (phase 1 study) or advanced fibrosis due to metabolic‐associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD; phase 2a study).

Quantitative DMS mapping for automated RNA secondary structure inference [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
For decades, dimethyl sulfate (DMS) mapping has informed manual modeling of RNA structure in vitro and in vivo. Here, we incorporate DMS data into automated secondary structure inference using a pseudo-energy framework developed for 2'-OH acylation (SHAPE) mapping.

Acyl Coenzyme A Synthetase Long-Chain 1 (ACSL1) Gene Polymorphism (rs6552828) and Elite Endurance Athletic Status: A Replication Study

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The aim of this study was to determine the association between the rs6552828 polymorphism in acyl coenzyme A synthetase (ACSL1) and elite endurance athletic status.
