High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Analysis and design of a class-D amplifier [PDF]
Analysis of a basic class-D amplifier circuit configuration shows its adaptability to a variety of applications. The feedback, input and output configuration and the frequency spectrum of the pulse-width-modulated signal are ...

How Adaptive Is an Adaptive Test: Are All Adaptive Tests Adaptive?
The primary distinguishing feature of computerized adaptive testing (CAT) is that sets of items that are administered to examinees are specifically selected for each examinee during the test process. This implies that examinees who respond differently to items on a test will get different sets of test items.

A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

: Wild turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo) were in serious trouble, especially in the eastern part of the country during the 1940s and 1950s. Years of overharvest, habitat degradation and a total disregard by the public were responsible for the complete loss ...

Cladding is a proven method that boosts the surface qualities of mechanical parts by applying a layer of more durable material over a base substrate. This work responds to the needs of offshore and pressure vessels sectors by focusing on cladding a super austenitic steel onto low‐carbon steel through gas tungsten arc welding.

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

Adaptability Checking in Multi-Level Complex Systems
A hierarchical model for multi-level adaptive systems is built on two basic levels: a lower behavioural level B accounting for the actual behaviour of the system and an upper structural level S describing the adaptation dynamics of the system.
