Adaptive decision support systems

Decision Support Systems, 1997
Abstract The effectiveness of decision support systems (DSS) is enhanced through dynamic adaptation of support to the needs of the decision maker, to the problem, and to the decision context. We define this enhanced DSS as adaptive decision support systems (ADSS) and propose its architecture.

Adaptive Decision Feedback Equalization under Parallel Adaptation

2008 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2008
In this paper, we first propose an alternative decision feedback equalizer (DFE) scheme to the DFE scheme of Labat, Macchi and Laot. Both schemes are broken into two distinct operation modes which feature a linear equalizer during acquisition and a DFE after the initial convergence has been achieved.

Knowledge Modularization for Adaptive Decision Modeling

ORSA Journal on Computing, 1990
Existing research has shown that theorem proving techniques of predicate calculus can be used as effective tools for query resolution in decision support systems. Implementation of these techniques however require searching large axiom sets leading to dead ends and backtracking.

Decision‐Making Triggers in Adaptive Management

Conservation Biology, 2012
Abstract We analyzed whether decision‐making triggers increase accountability of adaptive‐management plans. Triggers are prenegotiated commitments in an adaptive‐management plan that specify what actions are to be taken and when on the basis of information obtained from monitoring.

Economic adaptive decision processes

Fourth Symposium on Adaptive Processes, 1965
A sequential adaptive economic decision process can generally be broken down into three interrelated sequential processes. The first is a stochastic environmental process; the second is a historical process which generates a record of the past environmental events; and the third is the decision process itself.

Adapting meeting tools to agent decision

2013 IEEE Conference on Evolving and Adaptive Intelligent Systems (EAIS), 2013
Electricity markets are complex environments comprising several negotiation mechanisms. MASCEM (Multi-Agent System for Competitive Electricity Markets) is a simulator developed to allow deep studies of the interactions between the players that take part in the electricity market negotiations.

ADAPT: An Adaptive Approach to Media Decisions

Journal of the Operational Research Society, 1978
A firm's market changes under the impact of the firm's advertising. Feedback information on the market response allows the firm to learn about such changes and to adapt its subsequent media decisions accordingly. This paper presents an adaptive media model (ADAPT) that utilizes feedback information to revise certain parameters in a media decision model.

Adaptive expertise in medical decision making

Medical Teacher, 2018
Recently, a growing awareness has developed of the extraordinary complexity of factors that influence the clinical reasoning underpinning the diagnostic process. The aim of the present report is to delineate these factors and suggest strategies for dealing more effectively with this complexity.Six major clusters of factors are described here: (A ...

An adaptive decision system using pattern recognition

Annual Review in Automatic Programming, 1992
Abstract Pattern recognition is a well adapted set of methods in order to solve diagnostic problems. One of the main problem of diagnosis is to have a set of data corresponding to the different possible system faults in order to learn the decision rule.
